PRESIDENT & HEAD COACH
Andrew Lloyd is a 20 year education veteran; having taught for 17 years and most recently as a Vice-Principal at Port Moody Secondary School. Coach Lloyd has an extensive basketball coaching background that includes:
Head coaching multiple BC Summer Games Teams and Regional Provincial Team programs
Coaching with Basketball BC and the Centre For Performance Program
Coaching with the Vancouver Sports Club (VSC) as one of its inaugural head coaches
Extensive high school coaching experience
Leading the Gleneagle Talons in the early 2000s to basketball prominence
Lead Assistant Basketball Coach with Simon Fraser University under Head Coach Scott Clark
Within these roles, Andrew brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for the game of basketball. Whether working with youngsters, high school-aged players or grown men, Coach Lloyd lives, breathes and eats the game of basketball.

VICE PRESIDENT & COACH
Sean is a graphic designer with 20 years of creative problem solving experience. He has a passion for creating great visual design and a love for the game of basketball.
Sean has been coaching in the Tri-Cities since 2011 at both the house and rep team levels from U6-U14. Sean brings a love for the game of basketball that compliments the coaches and players through his active participation during practices. Sean prides himself on injecting a positive and meaningful approach to the game by cultivating the best in players and the team by enhancing their experience through hard work and play.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR & HEAD COACH
Drew played university basketball at Trinity Western University from 2006-2008, and later transferred to Douglas College where he played from 2008-2011. Drew was a 1st Team All-Star in the 2010/2011 season at Douglas College, and finished the season averaging 20 ppg and 6 apg.
In 2011, Drew played for Athletes In Action (USA) and traveled to Romania and Moldova (Europe) on a basketball tour playing against top-level professional basketball teams. In 2012, Drew toured with Athletes In Action again travelling to Beijing, China to compete against university and professional basketball teams, and China’s Junior National Team.
In the 2013/2014 basketball season, Drew signed with the Seattle Mountaineers of the American Basketball Association (ABA). In 2014/2015 season, Drew played for the Vancouver Balloholics (ABA).
Since 2013, Drew has worked with a variety of basketball programs to offer skill development training. Drew has a strong passion for the game of basketball, and specializes in player development.
Drew is also a Grade 8 Teacher at BC Christian Academy in Port Coquitlam, where he coaches their Jr. Prep team.
TECHNICAL DIRECTOR & HEAD COACH
Mike Parkins has been involved with coaching basketball since he graduated high school from Kelowna Secondary in 1986. He has coached at all levels, from age 8-11 youth basketball with Tri-City Basketball to men’s varsity at SFU. Recently, he has been the head coach for Basketball BC’s Metro Vancouver’s Boys’ U14-U17 Center for Performance (2015-2017), as well as the Dr. Charles Best Sr. Boys (2015-2018)..
Coaching highlights for Coach P. were with the KSS Owls in 1990 (3 rd Place finish in the 4A BC Championships), winning the SWISH League in Mt. Vernon, Washington with his Tri-City U14 Rep team in 2013-14 (along with multiple Canadian tournament wins that year) and coaching the Charles Best Blue Devils to their first 4A league final in 2018 (lost 53-51 to Heritage Woods) and their first win in the 4A Fraser Valleys, also in 2018.
Coach Parkins also played varsity basketball at UVIC and VIU from 1990-1994, (having the opportunity to play with a teenage Steve Nash), and he is a source of nearly endless Steve Nash anecdotes.
TREASURER, SECRETARY & ADMINISTRATOR
Ken brings over 25 years of financial industry experience to SWISH Basketball Academy. His professional experience ranges from financial planning, to business banking working with Small and Medium Enterprises and Not For Profits, to Operations, Project Management and Regulatory Compliance. As a volunteer in the community, Ken has managed several club basketball teams over the years, taught financial literacy courses to youth, was a volunteer field manager at international Rugby Sevens tournaments and has coached Dragonboat teams to several podium finishes. With his background, Ken provides valuable insights and guidance into the financial and operational needs of a community focused basketball academy.
Coach Ross has been coaching for over 25 years in 12 different sports. On the court, he has successfully guided many high school basketball teams to Fraser Valley Playoff appearances. After spending 13 years teaching and coaching multiple sports at Tamanawis Secondary, Coach Ross moved to Terry Fox Secondary for 5 years and has spent the last 6 years as an elementary principal in SD 43. Most recently, he has been coaching his son and daughter in both development soccer and elite level basketball. In 2015/16, Coach Ross won the Boys Coach of the Year award for Port Coquitlam Euro-Rite F.C.. Coach Ross has a track record of building tightly knit teams who play hard for each other and care for one another.
